Biography

 Dr. Beagrie's professional career has been predominantly in academic nursing education, having developed and delivered B.Sc.N. education in four Ontario universities. She has expertise in curriculum development and academic administration through the initiation of a variety of curricular models including 2nd entry/accelerated programming, Her clinical and research interests are in women's health and mental health on campus.  She joined York University in 2004 as the Director of the School of Nursing, and held that position until 2008. Previously she was the founding director of the Trent/Fleming nursing program at Trent University in Peterborough. Since joining York University, she has been involved in many programmatic innovations and curriculum renewal and evaluation. She served as Associate Dean, Professional and Global Programs from 2008-2014, and was Interim Master of Stong College until 2015, whereby a new focus on student success was implemented. Currently, she is co-chair of the pan-university Mental Health Steering Committee, committed to supporting a mentally healthy campus. She was the program initiator of the current Global Health BA/BSc program in the Faculty of Health. Dr. Beagrie has been involved in nursing associations at the provincial and national levels, including Board member, Nursing Research for RNAO and is Past President of the Canadian Association of Nursing Research and committees with CNA and the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing. Current Research

 Curriculum and program evaluation in education.  Currently engaged in inter-professional research initiatives and global health research. Her clinical and research interests are in mental health on campus and student engagement and success in post secondary environments.  She has served on many provincial and national committees in the promotion of nursing education and utilization of nursing research.
